Post-Wax

To keep your skin smooth and happy between appointments, here are some aftercare tips:

Redness

Experiencing some redness within 24-48 hours is normal. If it was your first waxing experience and/or you have coarse hair, you may experience more irritation than usual due to the hair follicles being deeply rooted.

Red Bumps?

Sometimes following a Bikini or Brazilian waxing service, you may experience red bumps and/or bumps with white tops to them. Rest assured, you have not ‘caught something’ from the wax bar. The hair follicles can get sensitive when first waxing coarse deeply rooted hair. Wait 24 hours post wax and then bathe in a lukewarm bath with baking soda (this will help the pH of your skin). Vitamin E also does wonders 😉

Breathe and be Comfy

Your follicles are open and its important for them to breathe. Wear something loose and comfy that won’t irritate your skin or cause excessive sweating.

Keep ‘em clean

We know you’re excited to show off your freshly waxed skin, however it is imperative that you keep your open follicles super clean for 24-48 hours post-wax. Bacteria and/or sweat entering open follicles may cause an adverse reaction. Therefore, for the first 1-2 days, we suggest:

– NO heat related activities such as hot yoga, steam rooms, and hot baths.

– NO heavy exercise/sweating

– NO tanning

– NO swimming

– NO exfoliating

– NO makeup (for face waxing)

– NO deodorant (for underarm waxing)

After 24-48 hours, the follicles will have had a chance to close back up and you are free to carry on with your normal activities.

Ingrown hair prevention

To prevent painful ingrown hairs, it is important to start exfoliating your skin 7-10 days following your wax. Use a gentle exfoliating glove or loofah to get rid of the dead skin cells that may be blocking the new hairs from coming through easily.

Avoid Shaving

Trimming is ok, but shaving is a swear word! Regular waxing leads to regrowth that is softer and sometimes sparser, so resist the temptation to pick up the razor.
